Ashdod Port Area

The Ashdod Port area contains 4 ports and corporations: The Ashdod Port Company, South Port, Cement Terminal at Quay 30 and the Israel Chemicals Company Bulk Terminal. Each of these handle different cargos such as containers, general cargo, automobiles, bulk, grain and cement.


1.    Ashdod Port Company Ltd.

The port was erected by the Ports Authority and replaced the Tel Aviv Port which ceased operation with the inauguration of the port in Ashdod in November 1965. Overall length of the quays: 5,045m (excluding Israel Chemicals quays #11 and 12, excluding quay 30 – the cement quay).

General cargo and bulk quays – 2,750m.

Container quays – approximately 1,800m.

In 2021 Ashdod Port Company conveyed general and bulk cargo totalling 4,954k tons and 1,612k TEU.


2.    SOUTH PORT – HCT.

The South Port Container Terminal was established by Israel Ports Company and HCT began operating it in 2022.

Quay data: Quay 27: Length 800m, immersed 17.3m.

                     Quay 28: Length 445m, immersed 17.5m.


3.    Cement Terminal Quay 30

Used for offloading cement and operated by Henson Company.

Length of quay: Approximately 300m, depth approximately 10m.

In 2021 approximately 799k tons of cement were conveyed by the Cement Terminal.


4.    Israel Chemical's Bulk Terminal at Ashdod Port

The terminal operated by Israel Chemicals Company on the southern side of Ashdod Port, conveys phosphoric acid, phosphates and potash. It has two quays which enable ships 225-250m in length to anchor. Maximum depth is 12m.

In 2021 of approximately 3,601k tons bulk of phosphates, potash and phosphoric acid were conveyed.
